Recovered Wages for Restaurant Workers

The Equal Justice Center and UT Law Transnational Worker Rights Clinic recently recovered thousands of dollars in unpaid wages for three kitchen workers of a sushi restaurant on “the Drag” across the street from the University of Texas campus. The restaurant paid its kitchen workers below the minimum wage rate and then fired the workers when they complained seeking fair pay from their employer. The EJC represented the workers in their claims for both the wage violations and the illegal retaliation, successfully recovering back pay and damages for all three workers.
